Creating a Visitor Type
Creating a Visitor Type is the first step in setting up Visitor Management in Tactic. Visitor Types define the check-in experience for different kinds of visitors and allow you to control what information is collected, what steps are required, and whether documents (like NDAs) need to be signed.
Steps
- Go to Profile > Settings > Visitor Manager > Visitor Types
- Click + Add Visitor Type
- Enter a Name and Description
- Click Next
Configure the check-in workflow
Choose what visitors will go through during check-in.
- Visitor Details (required)
- Host Selection (lets visitors choose who they are meeting with)
- NDA Signature (requires a document to be signed before check-in)
- Photo Capture (captures a photo for identification)
- Turn steps on or off as needed
- Drag to reorder the steps
- Click Next
Customize visitor fields
Control what information you collect from visitors.
- Default fields include: Name, Email, Phone, Company
- Mark fields as Required if needed
- Add additional fields if needed
- Click Next
Add legal documents (optional)
- Upload documents visitors must sign (such as an NDA)
- You can add multiple documents
- Click Next
Assign hosts (optional)
- Select which employees can be chosen as hosts
- If no hosts are selected, all employees will be available
- Click Next
Review and create
- Review your setup
- Click Create Visitor Type

- Create a Visitor Station (kiosk)
