Can't Sign In to Tactic

If you can't get into Tactic, start with the section that matches what you're seeing.

Always start at the right sign-in page

Go to id.gettactic.com/login, enter your work email and click Continue. Tactic sends you to the right sign-in method for your organization: a password, Google or your company's single sign-on (SSO), such as Microsoft.

I'm asked for an organization join code

The join code page is only for new accounts or people joining an organization for the first time. If your company uses SSO, you don't need a join code. Go to id.gettactic.com/login instead and sign in with your work email.

If you're new and your company doesn't use SSO, ask a Tactic admin in your organization for a join code or an invite.

Clicking Continue does nothing, or I keep coming back to the sign-in page

  • Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then try again. An old email address or session may be saved in your browser.
  • Make sure you're using the email address your company uses for Tactic, not an alias.
  • If you created a Tactic account yourself before your company set up SSO, a Tactic admin may need to remove that account so you can sign in through SSO. Contact support and we'll help.

I see a Microsoft error, or "your account or password is incorrect"

When your company uses Microsoft SSO, Microsoft checks your password and sign-in rules, not Tactic. Tactic can't see or reset your Microsoft password.

  • Re-type your password carefully and watch for autofill.
  • If you see an error code such as 53003, your company's Microsoft security policy blocked the sign-in, often because the device isn't registered or approved. Contact your IT team.

It works on my computer but not on my phone

This usually comes from your company's Microsoft sign-in policies for mobile devices. Make sure the Tactic app is up to date, then contact your IT team with a screenshot of the error.

For IT admins: SSO and Directory Sync checks

If a user can't sign in through Microsoft SSO, check these in Microsoft Entra:

  1. The user's account is enabled and sign-in isn't blocked.
  2. The user, or a group they belong to, is assigned to the Tactic enterprise application under Users and groups.
  3. If you use Directory Sync, the user is in a synced group. You can push them right away with Provisioning > Provision on demand in the Tactic enterprise application.
  4. The Sign-in logs in Entra show the reason for any failed attempt.

When Directory Sync is turned on, add users through Microsoft rather than inviting them from Tactic. See Single Sign-On (SSO) and Directory Sync.

Still stuck?

Contact support@gettactic.com with your work email, the page or app you used to sign in (web, mobile app or Teams), and a screenshot of what you see.
