Use Tactic Analytics

Tactic Analytics lets admins ask workplace questions in plain English, build and compare charts, look at the data behind them, and save the views they come back to.

Note: Analytics is available by request and is still being improved, so you may see changes as we add to it. If you'd like it turned on for your account, reach out to your account manager or support@gettactic.com.

Once it's on, you'll find Analytics in the left-hand menu in Tactic. It has five tabs: Boards, Outlook, Explore, Insights and Definitions.

Boards

Boards are ready-made dashboards for the questions people ask most. The default boards are Space, Desks, Meeting rooms, Parking, Visitors, Attendance, Desk assignments and Requests.

  • Use + filter and + period to narrow a board to an office, floor, team or date range.
  • Click Open in Explore on any highlight or chart to dig into it further.
  • Click Duplicate to my boards to make your own copy you can change.
  • To build a new board, type what you want into the Build a board box (for example "desks in Building A") and click Build board. New boards you build are private to you.

The ⋯ menu at the top of a board lets you Export board (Excel), choose Email me weekly to get the board in your inbox each week, or start a New board. The ⋯ menu on each chart lets you open it in Explore or export it as a CSV or Excel file.

Outlook

Outlook shows how full each office is likely to be over the next two weeks. It starts from what's already booked and adds what that weekday usually picks up, based on the last eight weeks of bookings. Click a day to see the floors and numbers behind it. You can switch between Desks and Parking.

Explore

Explore is where you ask your own questions.

  • Ask: type a question in plain words, like "who missed check-in yesterday" or "which team booked the most rooms last month", and Tactic sets up the chart for you.
  • Build it yourself: pick a measure (like Reservations, Occupancy, Check-in rate or Missed check-ins), then use + by to break it down by office, floor, zone, team, person, desk/room, amenity or weekday.
  • Period: pick the date range and, if you want, a period to compare it to.
  • Chart type: switch between trend, calendar, bars, table, map and more.
  • What's behind it: click See the rows behind this number to see the actual reservations, including who, their email, where, when and check-in status. Use Columns to choose what shows and Export to download it.
  • Save to board: save the view so you can come back to it.

Under Records you can also pull row-level lists of Reservations, Visitors, Deliveries, Desk assignments and Users.

Example: see who missed check-in

If your office cancels reservations when nobody checks in, you can see who was cancelled:

  1. Go to Analytics › Explore.
  2. Type "who missed check-in yesterday" in the Ask box, or pick Missed check-ins and break it down by Person.
  3. Click See the rows behind this number to see each reservation with the person's email.
  4. Click Export to download the list.

Missed check-ins counts reservations that were already cancelled because nobody checked in, so it shows what happened after the fact. It includes desks and rooms, so add a filter if you only want one.

Insights

Insights points out patterns in your data, like which desk amenities get booked the most, where workplace requests wait the longest, and the best day for a team to come in.

Definitions

Definitions explains every measure: where it comes from, what counts, and what's left out. If a number looks off, this is the place to check.

Good to know

  • Reservation and check-in data refreshes nightly, so today's bookings show up tomorrow. Workplace request data is live.
  • Periods use each office's local time.
  • Dedicated desks count as taken every working day in occupancy.
