How to integrate with Slack
If your team uses Slack as their primary communication tool, you can integrate Tactic with Slack to streamline the workspace booking process and improve team adoption. In this article, we'll guide you through the steps to integrate Tactic with Slack.

π‘ Note: Organization settings are only visible to your company's designated Tactic Admins.
Step 1: Create a Tactic channel inside of Slack
The Tactic Slack app requires a channel to send messages to for public announcements and notifications. Before we begin, we recommend adding a new channel, like #tactic or #tactic-reservations, that you can add the bot to.
Step 2: Navigate to Org Integrations
Log in to your Tactic account and click on the Settings button in the top right corner.
Select Integrations & Apps from the drop-down menu.
Once on the Integrations page, make sure to navigate to the Org Integrations tab, which is only visible to Tactic admins.

Step 3: Link your Slack Account
After clicking the Get Started button, enter your Tactic login info on the login page. If it does not ask you to login, that is ok. This means you have a valid session already. Continue to the next step.
After entering your email and password, select the channel you created in Step 1 and then select Allow, so the Tactic app can be installed into your Slack workspace.
This will direct you back to the Slack desktop application. If you do not have the desktop app, it will redirect to a url that looks like this:
slack://app?team=somteamname&id=someid
The page looks like an error, but it is OK.
Once you've done this, navigate to Slack and type
/tactic
. If you see the command pop up or a message back from the Tactic bot, the installation was successful!
Now each user can setup their accounts by following the Users section above. Happy scheduling! π
